News

These are the latest news and projects we have been involved in.

In previous posts, we introduced ENACT, a project funded by Horizon Europe (GAP-101157151) that addresses the impact of environmental stressors on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which account for 80% of the morbidity burden in the EU.

ENACT focuses on contaminants such as air pollution, urban noise, radiation, and electromagnetic fields, which cause 311,000 premature deaths annually from atmospheric pollution in the EU-27.

The project, coordinated by AIOTI and running until June 2028, develops a framework and exposomic risk analysis platform to predict, monitor, and prevent vascular and non-vascular NCDs. It supports patients, healthcare professionals, and policymakers with personalized environmental risk scores, promoting prevention and management to reduce the human and economic burden.

ENACT encourages active interventions against environmental effects on health, integrating data from in-situ sensors and portals like CORDIS and Zenodo.

RFSAT has recently published an article on the project, which you can visit by clicking here.
