In February, AicrumIT, along with 8 other international partners, participated in the kick-off meeting of the RIS-INCOME project in Madrid, Spain, organized by the Gómez Pardo Foundation. This project aims to develop a digital tool for the mining sector to monitor and manage Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria.
Mining companies are required to comply with European ESG standards and specific industry regulations. However, the lack of updated data and the constant changes in legislation make it difficult for them to produce sustainability reports. Existing software on the market is too generic and does not meet the specific needs of the mining sector.
For this reason, the RIS-INCOME consortium is focused on developing and commercializing an innovative and powerful digital tool that addresses these needs. This tool will combine all the requirements set out by the new European Union directives, enabling mining companies to efficiently and effectively meet ESG and regulatory standards. Additionally, it will provide non-financial and sustainability reports, helping to improve the public perception of mining operations and strengthening the Social Licence to Operate (SLO).
AicrumIT leads the technical direction of the project, leveraging its expertise and knowledge in software development, now focused on the mining sector.
The two-year project is co-financed by EIT RawMaterials, one of the European Union bodies promoting the transition to a sustainable economy.
