News

These are the latest news and projects we have been involved in.

On October 10th and 11th, 2024, the AICRUMIT team traveled to Kaunas, Lithuania, to attend the Kick-off of the IRHIS project, co-financed by the European Union’s Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) instrument.

This event marks the beginning of an ambitious collaborative effort involving 21 partners from different European regions, including Belgium, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Greece, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Romania, with the goal of bringing new innovations to the field of telemedicine.

Project Objectives of IRHIS

Over the next three years, the IRHIS project will focus on developing advanced patient care solutions based on artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and remote monitoring. The goal is to establish the first Advanced Remote Care Demonstration Chain in the European Union, with a special focus on Less Developed Regions (LDR).

The efforts will focus on three key areas of remote care:

  • Musculoskeletal rehabilitation
  • Treatment of neurological disorders
  • Critical patient conditions (Intensive Care Units – ICU)

By creating three Interregional Demonstration Labs (DemoLabs), we will collaborate with small and medium-sized enterprises to implement and scale eight key technologies in these labs, aiming to revolutionize medical care.

Over 1,000 patients will participate in testing and evaluations, allowing us to collect large volumes of data to develop robust AI models and machine learning algorithms, ensuring that our solutions are relevant and well-suited to the market.

Our role in this project is to develop AI algorithms for processing and predicting data collected from patients through sensors. This will enhance both their quality of life and the quality of medical care they receive by predicting critical medical situations based on biometric data.
