On January 22nd, the AICRUM IT team traveled to Brussels to attend the kickoff event of the research and innovation project ENACT (Environmental Effect on Health Care and Wellbeing and Active Interventions), funded by the European Union’s HORIZON-HLTH-2024-ENVHLTH-02-06 program. Its main objective is to analyze the impact of environmental factors on health and develop innovative strategies to predict, monitor, and prevent non-communicable diseases, such as cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions.
This event marks the beginning of an international collaboration among partners from various European Union countries, including Belgium, Spain, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, Ireland, Romania, and the Netherlands.
ENACT will run for 42 months and will focus on four key areas:
- Monitoring the environmental impact on health: Developing methods to assess exposure to environmental factors and their relationship with chronic diseases.
- Development of predictive models using AI: Integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning to identify risk patterns and predict environment-related diseases.
- Digital tools for patients and professionals: Designing technological solutions that enhance health management and enable more personalized treatments.
- Policy recommendations for European healthcare: Generating evidence-based recommendations to support public health decision-making.
AICRUM IT’s role in ENACT focuses on the development of advanced clinical data visualization tools that facilitate the interpretation and analysis of health information to improve medical decision-making. This will allow healthcare professionals to access key data intuitively and efficiently, optimizing disease management and patient care.
